About Master Black Belt Development Program

As teachers, mentors, project leaders and change agents, Master Black Belts play a critical role in driving quantifiable improvements throughout their organizations. The Lean Methods Group’s multidimensional Master Black Belt program rigorously prepares professionals to succeed in this strategic role.

Master Black Belt (MBB) candidates are already certified Black Belts who are skilled in change leadership and problem-solving techniques. To reach the next level, we focus on the advanced tools and facilitation skills needed to lead change within your organization.

The differentiating aspects of this program are its discipline, personalized attention, flexibility in learning modes (classroom with online support) and self-paced schedule so you can set timelines and deadlines that work for you.

Candidates begin by getting paired with a Lean Methods Group Master Black Belt program manager who coaches you through every step of the process—selecting electives, passing exams, completing projects, and meeting other certification requirements. With 10 electives to choose from for the four required courses, you can choose courses that specifically focus on your needs, whether advanced tool knowledge, innovation techniques, or people and leadership skills. Real-world project work enables you to further personalize the program for maximum benefit to you and your organization, applying what you have learned and gaining coaching on specific challenges that arise.

Lean Methods Group-certified Master Black Belts and those actively engaged in the program are also eligible to join our exclusive Master Black Belt LinkedIn group to share ideas, challenges and solutions.

The Master Black Belt training courses really challenged me, both personally and professionally. I learned a great deal, not only about the Six Sigma methodology, but also about becoming a leader within my organization.

In addition to the world-class instruction, the online curriculum and four required workshops provided the rigor I was seeking from an MBB program. One of the most rewarding aspects was having an assigned mentor/coach to guide me through my requirements. It was easy to schedule times and dates to meet, and most importantly, the feedback was incredibly helpful. If you want to develop yourself into a certified MBB, I highly recommend the program.
